Express Entry is a system created by the Canadian government in 2015 to help skilled workers immigrate to Canada as permanent residents. People who want to move to Canada apply through this system. Those with the most points get an Invitation To Apply for permanent residency.

There are three programs under Express Entry:

• Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
• Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
• Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

In order to qualify for Express Entry, you must satisfy specific requirements:

• You need to be nominated for any visa program.
• You need to score at least 67 points for the FSW Program.
• You need to prove you know English or French.
• You need a positive Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report.
• You need to be in good health.
• You need to have enough money.

The specific criteria depend on the program you choose. You need to score 67 points to create your Express Entry profile.

You can only apply for permanent residency after getting an Invitation To Apply (ITA) from the government. The higher your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, the better your chances of getting an ITA.

The CRS is a point system that assesses different factors, with a maximum of 1200 points.

You need various documents for the Express Entry process:

For profile submission:

• Passport
• ECA Report
• Language test results
• Job offer (if you have one)
• Provincial nomination (if you have one)

For application submission:

• Proof of funds
• Police clearance certificate
• Medical examination report

Proof of funds shows you have enough money to move to Canada. It's required for some programs under Express Entry.

To apply for Express Entry: 

• Check if you're eligible
• Collect all needed documents
• Create your profile
• Submit your profile
• Applicants are selected according to their CRS scores
• The highest-scoring applicants get an ITA
• Upon receiving an ITA, you are granted a period of 60 days to submit your application
• If selected, you need to submit more documents
• After verification, you can move to Canada
